Gibson L5 - Band Leader George Yeatman's Guitar Super Nice!! - Only 1800 in Atlanta, Georgia For Sale

Here we have an amazing guitar from what some enthusiasts would say was the "Golden Era" for Gibson archtops.
This guitar was purchased new in xxxx by Baltimore orchestra leader George Yeatman. It was his personal guitar and used in performances with his orchestra. I have attached a pic of the flyer that will accompany the guitar which was a promo for Mr. Yeatman's orchestra.
The guitar was serviced in the early xxxx's by Mr. Bob Benedetto and he remarked it was one of if not the best acoustic archtop guitars he ever heard. Now that is a ringing endorsement!
The guitar is in amazing condition. There are some playing scuff marks on the top and I have circled them on one of the pics so you can get a good look at them. There are other surface marks here and there but nothing major.
xxxx L-5 specs:
- "Advanced" 17" body
- X-braced top
- 5 ply top and pickguard binding
- pointed-end fingerboard with 5 ply binding
- flat plate tailpiece with engraved "L-5"
- block fingerboard inlays starting at 1st fret
- wider (non-snakehead) peghead with 5 ply binding
- Top braces go back to solid hand carved wood, because now the top is wider and doesn't have as much arch as the smaller L-5 body type

The guitar has great action, the neck is perfectly straight, sounds amazing and oozes quality crafting when you are playing it. There are some light crazing marks on the face of the headstock when looking up close.
Comes with the original case. The case has lots of wear along the edges, but all the clasps work, the handle is solid etc.
Overall just a great guitar.
